Bulldozers of the Israeli occupation on Sunday uprooted 60 olive trees from the lands and bulldozed large areas of lands in Salfit city, northern West Bank.
The mayor of Salfit, Abd al-Karim Fattash, stated that the occupation bulldozers uprooted about 60 olive trees and razed the lands near the northern entrance to the city of Salfit, in the area called “Al-Marahat,” owned by Ziad Zuhd.
Fattash added that the occupation forces have notified them to stop work on rehabilitating an international stadium and a park for people with special needs in the same area.
Bulldozers for the settlers from “Ariel” settlement, as well as the army north of Salfit, bulldozed the lands of Salfit farmers without notifying the farmers.
Farmers from Salfit explained that the razing was in the Abu Azriq area, northwest of Salfit, and olive groves were uprooted and their sources.
The researcher in settlement affairs, Dr. Khaled Maali said that the bulldozing took place under the pretext of C-areas administered by the occupation in accordance with the Oslo Agreement, as it was notified to stop work on the municipal stadium as well.
His referred to several mechanisms belonging to the settlement and the army that withdrew after the completion of the operation this morning, which violates international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
